Trying to see if there is a need for a Financial Projections Service for Start-ups.
-
Feargal Byrne created a new topic Financial Projections Service €195 a Fair Price? in the forum.I understand that most new entrepreneurs are not comfortable with the financial planning aspect of their business. I would like to help.
I am an experienced company director with an M.B.S. in Entrepreneurship and Marketing and a B.A. in Accounting and Finance. I am also a member of the Marketing Institute of Ireland. I have a very successful track recording marketing new products and services. However, I have also gained some significant experience in the area of financial planning that can help start-ups.
I would like to help start-ups by giving them customised financial projections for use in their business plan. However, the absolute lowest fee I can charge is €195 (+VAT).
Do you think that this price is fair?

Feargal Byrne replied to the topic Re: social media and online marketing in the forum. The most important thing about Internet Marketing is the Marketing Part.
Is your value proposition right?
Do you have the right headline on your landing page?
How well does your sales copy perform?
A great way to make sales online for a new company is using paid advertising and a conversion optimised landing page.
However, you must be able to get repeat sales from the new clients you acquire using this method.
For me social media is all about repeat business. That is where it can have a major impact. Now, I don't offer any social media services. I specialise exclusively in new client acquisition using mostly online advertising. The key is to get maximum client lifetime value and social media is a great way to do this. It also helps people spread word of mouth.
For example if you cost per client acquisition is €250 and your average contribution/profit per sale is 100. You need your clients to buy three times before you make a profit on your marketing costs.
If social media can maintain contact with new clients to such an extent that they buy 8 - 10 times then it's value is apparent.
Regarding SEO, high converting landing pages are mostly not SEO friendly. SEO is an expensive game and should not be used until you know a good bit about the most profitable keywords for your specific business. Once you have that data, and after doing the analysis can show a good chance of profit then SEO can work quite well. I find the trick to be to SEO blog pages that have a link to your landing/sales page.

Dave created a new topic I need 3 websites, prefer a company in Ireland in the forum.Hi,
I am about to set up 3 websites, I have the domain names registered but would like to hear from companies in Ireland to see what they can offer.
I need ecommerce platforms that are easy to manage and add products. I already have a Magento site but would like something that is easier to host.
Now for the sites:
1. English
2. German
3. French
But I need to be able to add sites as I develop more countries.
I need full control over the sites. I will also need to see some feedback in regard to your work.
Lots more but lets see who makes contact.
Thanks,
Dave

Mary McCloskey replied to the topic Re: Doing Business in the US in the forum.I use Paypal invoicing to collect payments from abroad and have never had any problems. Paypal is widely known in the USA. Paypal may ask the the company you are invoicing to sign up with Paypal in order to process payment, however, they can skip this part if they do not want to actually sign up and Paypal will still process payment. The Paypal website has many payment integration options for you to choose from.

I had a conversation recently with one of our suppliers who works mostly in the USA and would bill probably a few hundred large clients a month. They told me that Americans are stuck on cheques and hate paying by any other means. Their clients are mostly farmers which may have or may not be a factor but there is my 2c anyway!

Michael MacGinty replied to the topic Re: social media and online marketing in the forum.Hey Alex,
You started a great string here and i hope Fionan will make sure that the topic continues as this debate is far from over Even when we all share current Best Practice, the best advice will need to be updated regularly with all the changes as a result of new Google algorithms or new avenues of Social Media.
The people who can effect Best Practice do not need to be SEO or SEM "Experts", anyone can take good advice from here and learn, but it is a job that can also be outsourced to someone who is proficient, has the time and is willing to do it at a fair price - if you can identify them. We can all paint our own homes, but we can also get a Professional Painter toi do it. Which painter would you use ? Probably someone who has been referred to you by someone who has used the same painter. That Word of Mouth marketing is so so important in our decision making.
Good luck with Pets.

John Jordan replied to the topic Re: Helping Businesses with Small Marketing Budgets in the forum. However in saying that....
It boils down to your business plan and what your growth goals are.
Perhaps developing relationships with some organisations, become their preferred search site.
Perhaps spend a bit of time contributing to travel forums where you can point to your site.
Perhaps promote your site through Facebook and Twitter with competitions and surveys.
Perhaps blog and distribute your posts to relevant sites.
The bottom line is that although a budget may be required for growth on a larger scale, you can supplement your core marketing activities with other zero cost activities to help drive traffic to your site.

Derbhile Dromey created a new topic Who is the perfect client in the forum. The perfect client gives you the information you need to get the job done.
The perfect client is happy to pay you before the job is done.
The perfect client will give you prompt feedback in your work and reply to all your emails straight away.
The perfect client spreads the word about you to other people and tells you you're wonderful.
In my case, my perfect client is David Steele of SimpleEarth (BaileyBooks104 on Smallbusinesscan).
Yes it's my job to get the job done. But's so much easier when the client works with you.
Thanks, Dave
Derbhile
