Roadmap for Small Business Can, man!
Group Information
Let's see if we can turn this group into something useful. Here we'll take suggestions about the future direction of the site and the Small Business can initiative in general. Let's break the group into 4 areas for the moment:
Content on the site
Are we covering enough subjects? What other subjects that will help SMEs should we cover. Here's where we will take direction and bring it to our editiorial board (must st one of them up, ed.)
Site functionality
Are we happy with current functionality? Anything not working properly? We're looking at introducing some element of video conferencing, instant messaging. What else should we be looking at?
Offline
We've been doing meetings around the country - about 1 a quarter - where we bring the spirit of small business can into communities. The format is panel discussion on the 4Ms challenges of running a business with businesspeople from the 4 growth stages - start up, emerging, rapid growth and next level. is this the right format? Should we be doing more of these events?
And in general
What kind of help are businesses getting from the site? What help is needed? What more can we do to promote the site and get more people involved? We have strong partners on the site; should we be leveraging these relationshps more for the good of the site? How?

As you have seen we have been busy. Just to give you a quick update. We have introduced the functionality to submit a blog. We are about to introduce a Smallbusinesscan wiki as well. Have a look at www.smallbusinesscan.com/wiki.
The plan is to build the best resource there is for and by entrepreneurs and eventually build that into a business drivers license, which will make learning about how to start and grow a business easier, more relevant and more practical. If anybody has any idea, we would be glad to hear them.
If you know of people that could contribute, we would be much oblidged. You can use the invite a friend functionality we added. See http://www.smallbusinesscan.com/component/parainvite/?view=invite.
Feel free to comment, give feedback or tell us what you like and don't like.

John Motran...Can you make it to Loughrea? This is the kind of format that we'll put on the road. Join the group and let your network know.
It would be great to have a meeting in Kerry. We used to have a monthly Enterprise Network meeting but those have been cut down to 4 or 5 a year because of cuts in the Enterprise Board's funding. I think a main speaker - preferably provocative - followed by discussion about business issues with a panel would be a good format.
